Upcoming Workshops

Join us for a hands-on, two-day moldmaking workshop designed to equip you with the skills needed to create your own molds. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your technique, this immersive experience will guide you through the entire process of moldmaking.
Day 1: Saturday (10 AM - 4 PM)
The first day focuses on the fundamentals of moldmaking. You’ll start by selecting an object of your choice (within a 12"x12"x12" volume) to cast. We’ll cover the basics of mold design, discussing when to use one-part, two-part, or even three-part molds for more complex shapes. You’ll receive personalized instruction as you begin the process, learning to prepare your object, mix and pour the plaster, and troubleshoot common issues. By the end of the day, you’ll have created a solid foundation for your mold, ready to be completed on Day 2.
Day 2: Sunday (10 AM - 2 PM)
On the second day, you’ll finish your mold and prepare it for future casting. Due to the necessary drying time, your molds won’t be ready for immediate use, so instead, you’ll have the chance to practice casting with slip using one of our studio molds. This will give you a hands-on experience with the casting process and an understanding of how your mold will function once fully dried. We’ll also cover techniques for de-molding, cleaning, and prepping your mold for repeated use. Throughout the day, we’ll discuss best practices, material choices, and ways to optimize your workflow for future projects.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a complete mold of your chosen object, plus the confidence and knowledge to continue moldmaking on your own. You'll also receive a detailed printout of my notes and techniques, which you can refer to as you continue to develop your skills. And to ensure you’re never stuck, you’ll have access to ongoing support for any moldmaking questions that may arise in your future projects.
This workshop is not just about learning a skill—it's about opening up new creative possibilities. All materials are included in the workshop fee, so just bring your enthusiasm and an object you’d like to cast. We’ll take care of the rest!
